I have been saving my wine corks for over a year. Doesn't look like many does it??? That is because I had over 9 months of no drinking. lol
For those of you that don't drink wine, you can purchase the corks at places like The Home Depot. They are in the hardware department with the hard to find items.
I used 18 corks for this but you can use more if you have them. There are also 18 bells on here too. You can get away with only using 17 if you don't put one where the ribbon is.
What you will need:
18 corks
18 bells
2 different gauge wire
Ribbon
Drill and small drill bit
Wire cutter and needle nose pliers
Start by drilling holes through all the corks. Two holes in each cork. Cut two similar lengths of wire. One from each gauge. The lengths depend on how many corks you plan to use. Remember it is better to have too much wire than to cut it too short. Thread the corks on the heavier gauge wire first and then put the thinner gauge wire through the other holes. String a bell in between the corks (this is the one you use the thinner wire with). I messed up the first time I made this and had to tear it all apart. It is very important to use the heavy gauge wire. Once I got mine all assembled it sagged and was more of an oval than a circle. Once you have it all assembled, twist the wires and trim off any excess wire. Place the ribbon where you have the wire twisted to cover it. That is it. Hang and enjoy!!!
